Nothing but Nature - Ahwahnee Hotel

This was such a refreshing wedding to plan and design. I would have never guessed how much fun I could have with only designing with foliage and some acorn branches. Lindsay and Santiago had a small, intimate wedding in Yosemite National Park at the Ahwahnee Hotel. The wedding party only consisted of the two of them and after the ceremony out in the meadow they gathered on the East Terrace to enjoy an outdoor luncheon. The rich greens and the natural wood vases and hints of acorns are so simple and so gorgeous to compliment the environment.

Lindsay and Zach - Plums and Gilded Golds

The colors you choose for your wedding play such an important part to the feel of your entire day. You have to think about how they fit you as a couple, the time of year, definitely the venue down to what flowers you choose and how much of the specific colors to implement. From when I began doing weddings 9 years ago when discussing something like purple it was pretty much light, dark or both. Now that this industry has leaped in to such a customized world and the colors offered have become endless, it is important to remain true and specific to your palette. This brings me to Lindsay and Zachs gorgeous wedding. The past couple years the plums and eggplants have been making a statement and pulling in flowers to represent that is very limited. We have Calla Lilies which are a more modern and sleek look, scabiosas which are more on the wildflower side, ranunculus which are breathtaking but not always available and outside of that we need to achieve that look by pulling in things like succulents and actual plums. When working with Lindsay she was so kick back over all on knowing what style she wanted with long runner type centerpieces, she wanted to pull in some rich vine foliage to the bouquets, also requested to use some cream cotton or jute to finish the bouquets off, wanted some succulents as well. She mentioned and sent a sample picture of her making of her killer gilded gold water bottle table numbers but never did I know she was going to knock my socks off with all the other details she put in to this event herself. She had custom wood pins made to enhance each boutonniere for the men that were in the shape of squirrels, dinosaurs, fox and bears, gold gilded dinosaurs scattered in specific places at the reception, wood heart garlands with specified signage around the reception, her own pallets for her ceremony altar area. All the way down to the very dedicated detail of taking every guests facebook profile picture and making it a Polaroid for them to find their faces and then the table numbers. Such a gorgeous day this past August at The Evergreen. You can see by the photos how rich and powerful her simple color scheme was! Books and Cameras

Esmeralda and Nasim were such a breath of fresh air to work just within the 3 weeks we began communicating before their Monday Yosemite wedding. They did such a perfect job on pulling in elements that reflect who they are and what they love as well as still fitting within the style of the venue. Both are in the industry of writing and photography so what better way to enhance that passion for them but to pull them in to the details. She had sent over some photos to showcase the inspiration behind her vision and we worked together to create some magic! I hollowed out some of my vintage books to create my floral arrangements from and in the most unbelievable timing I had fell upon an irresistible deal on some vintage cameras that helped finish off the styling of this event. Flowers used are Juliet Garden roses, seeded Eucalyptus, Ranunculus, Billy Balls, Succulents, brazilla berries and dusty miller. These were my usual shots I always try and snag before leaving to set up. Pale Elegance - Peach, Pewter, Blush and Lace

Anytime I hear these colors and textures used as describing words for ones wedding, I'm hooked! Jeanette was all about these elements for her July wedding to give a fresh summer elegance for her big day. We finished her bouquet with an ivory lace, mixed up various style centerpieces to complete and fill the room, and the champagne linens help showcase the florals. Flowers used are Juliet Garden Roses, Dusty Miller, Ranunculus, Asitlbe, Cafe Au Lait Dahlias, Cream Hydrangeas and Vendella Roses. Sharon and Daniel - Speechless Details

When it comes to think of how to title my various blog entries, its a pretty basic process....name the couple along with the style or theme of their decor. In the wedding inspiration world there are no such words to give this entire wedding, from venue down to the placemat, a proper description without jumping into the broad category of "rustic," so I choose to leave it as I have been left....speechless! Sharon and Daniel are both so amazingly talented and creative, they put the term DIY to new levels begining with their website that they designed and created. That entire style was the heart to each detail that went into this event. They were introduced to me through a previous creative and awesome client Courtney from Lucky Plum . I loved her style and artistic eye so much that she helped brand my company and created my logo! When Sharon first contacted me, I was a few weeks away from giving birth to my 3rd baby and when I looked at the link to the venue, Union Hill , Columbia, that they were to have their wedding....I melted!!! Where has this hidden jewel been all my life? A few months and a newborn later, the team of us vendors met onsite to get a first hand look into what their day will be like. With it being an October date it was hard to plan for an outdoor reception and after walking the grounds, it would be amazing no matter what the weather. The photos from the wedding day I had a chance to grab is just a small snippet of the variety of spots around the entire grounds. The little cottage where the groom and groomsmen get ready is a restored chicken coop, the bridal house is decorated in a shabby chic Victorian style and you go through a little trellis tunnel lined with distressed white old windows, small vineyard, an old cabin/barn house that has a large wooden table in the center with tall vaulted ceilings and tons of various paintings up and down all the walls. This is where there was a kitchen of amazing desserts being made by the grooms sister for the couples old fashion dessert table. Sharon tea dyed and stamped each napkin to blend with the pattern of the wedding. Incorporated hand painted signage and sewn flags for "Here Comes The Bride," utilized bare wood rectangle tables for a family style dinner and at the center of each table was a large flat picnic basket. In the basket was a collection of vintage china in various shades of pink and the silverware for each guest to grab and then dish up. The placemats were found through BHLDN. They carried their personalized logo throughout as well all the way down to their custom made stamp for their guest favors of homemade biscuit kits. The isle was lined with large mason jar arrangmenets which were then turned over to use in the sea of mason jars that were filled with flowers and candles that created the runner effect for the centerpieces. Her color choices were unique and blended together amazingly. The touch of the plum foliage, a soft pink accent some bold spurts of goldenrod and some over all rich fall hues and textures fit perfectly like all other details. The ribbon was supplied from The Ribboniere in San Francisco for the bouquets and boutonnieres and to highlight some of the mason jar florals. Sharon and Daniel also chose their bad ass boutonnieres which was my favorite part to design for the wedding. So excited to see the actual wedding photos from the incredible One Love Photo but in the meantime....enjoy.
